The amount of electronic waste in the United States is growing at an alarming rate. The average American throws away over 10 pounds of electronic waste every year. People are throwing out their old electronics, not realizing that these items contain toxic materials like lead, mercury, and cadmium that can contaminate soil and water supplies when they end up in landfills.
E-waste takes up space in our landfills, and worse yet, some of the materials found in electronic devices are hazardous to humans. Some of these materials can be used for nefarious purposes if they fall into the wrong hands.
Electronic waste is a growing problem, and it’s not going away, at least not soon. Along with the growing and improving trend in electronic devices, E-Waste is expected to increase and keep soaring until a really feasible and viable solution is implemented.
There’s a new law going into effect soon called the Responsible Electronics Recycling Act (RERA) which requires producers to take responsibility for recycling e-waste generated by their products. Manufacturers will have to help finance the cost of collecting and recycling e-waste from consumers who buy their goods. This will make it more expensive for people to throw away electronics without properly disposing of them.
Gadget stores, manufacturers, and retailers also provide trash bins where people can dispose of their old phone models and other gadgets so the company will dispose of them properly, safely, and legally. However, dropping by in designated stores is quite inconvenient especially to busy individuals. So what commonly happens is that their E-wastes end up in landfills which is hazardous to health and the environment.
A lot of people are unaware that they can recycle their old electronics. This is exactly what we do after picking up your old electronics. We send them to our E-Waste recycling plants where metals and other useful parts are taken out and the hazardous and toxic chemicals are disposed of properly through incineration and other legally approved methods of disposal. Instead of throwing them into landfills that cost the environment a hefty sum of money to break down, why don’t you call us for our junk removal service and we’ll handle everything else from there?
What do we do?
We will come out to your home or business, remove all the e-waste you need to be removed, load it into our truck then take it to an accredited recycling facility where it will be broken down into raw materials so that it doesn’t end up in a landfill somewhere. We may also do other junk removal services such as yard waste removal, full cleanouts, etc. upon on-site request.
When you hire us for our junk removal service, you’re not only doing something good for the environment but also helping keep these valuable resources out of landfills as well as saving yourself some time by not having to do this on your own!
